Drowning

As the clouds block the sun from her perfect little garden
She strains to her the distant music
That has now been drowned out by the thunder
And then the rain falls down

The fire that once burned in her heart
Drenched by the bottle of liquor in his hand
Her very soul has been knocked to the floor
By his ruthless words that she knows deep down are true

He chained her to the ground
And cut out her tongue so he couldn't hear her beg anymore
Now all he has to do is mop up the mess
And pray that she doesn't remember
That she has the power to destroy him

All her hopes and dreams are wilting
Everything she knows she is has been thrown aside
Everything she used to be is gone now
But all his dreams have finally come true
